Let’s cut to the chase. Is shopmicas.com (the women’s clothing shop) a legit website? The quick answer is yes, they are legitimate. I received both of my clothing orders and successfully returned everything for refunds. Now the biggest question is, would I shop here again?
In this honest and detailed review, I will share my purchase and return experience, my thoughts on their clothing, brand information/research, and my final verdict/recommendation. Keep reading for more!

Is MICAS fast fashion?
Yes, they are. They have categories called ‘What’s Hot’ and ‘New Trend’, which is a dead giveaway.
On their About page, they claim to be dedicated to quality, a small-batch production model, and the well-being of their workers. Since they don’t substantiate these sustainability claims, I am inclined to think they are green-washing.
I can confirm, however, that my items arrived in 100% recycled plastic bags.

According to their About page and Facebook page, they are based in Hong Kong and the United States. They are located at the following addresses:

According to my tracking information, my orders were originally shipped from China. I received my orders from distribution centers in Illinois and California (United States).

I ordered the below items on 2/26/2023 to my address in North Carolina (United States). I paid a total of $70.00 to MICAS (support@shopmicas.com) via PayPal. The charge appears on my credit card statement as “PAYPAL *MICAS”. – View Order Confirmation
1) Button Front Corduroy Mini Skirt
Brand Label: MICAS
Color/Size/Cost: Brown / L / $30
Country: Unknown
Material: The product page states 35% Polyester / 65% Cotton.
Expectation: It isn’t what I was expecting in terms of overall appearance. The material is surprisingly thin, the pockets are smaller than expected, and the color is a cooler brown than in the picture.
Quality: In my opinion, the quality is terrible and unwearable. See my Quality Comparison & Rating Chart to know my current quality-rating standards.
Fit: I ordered based on the size guide provided, and it is the right size but is not suitable for my body shape. The waist is a size too big, but the hips fit well. View my Body Measurements for size reference.
Keep or Return: I would return this MICAS skirt.
The skirt is paper thin and the quality is horrendous for the price. The back seam is sewn poorly (it looks permanently wrinkled), and the fit is not good for a curvy shape. For $30, I expect WAY better quality than this.
2) Checked Tweed Shirt Jacket
Brand Label: MICAS
Color/Size/Cost: Red / M / $40
Country: Unknown
Material: The product page states 100% Polyester.
Expectation: It isn’t what I was expecting in terms of overall appearance. It has a lot of yarn sewn in which I didn’t expect. Also, I was expecting a dull pastel green color along with the red, but the jacket I received is a pale blue.

Keep or Return: I would keep this MICAS jacket.
While I don’t love that actual yarn is woven into the fabric since that could easily get worn down in the wash, it is extremely unique-looking. It also feels very heavy-duty (it feels like it weighs 4lbs). The material, however, is kind of itchy. This would need to be worn over something long-sleeved. Also, the side pockets are placed a little too far back, so it feels awkward when I try to rest my hands in them. For the quality, the price isn’t too bad.

3) Asymmetric-Waist Straight-Leg Jeans

Color/Size/Cost: Light Wash Blue / L / $42
Country: Made in China
Material: 90% Cotton / 10% Polyester
Expectation: They are what I was expecting, for the most part, in terms of overall appearance. The button is a dark silver color in person, and the product image looks like a lighter silver.
Quality: In my opinion, the quality is okay. See my Quality Comparison & Rating Chart to know my current quality-rating standards.
Fit: I ordered based on the size guide provided, and it is the right size, but not the right fit for my body shape. The waist is at least one size too big, but the hips fit perfectly (though, the front crotch area has A LOT of extra fabric). View my Body Measurements for size reference.
Keep or Return: I would return these MICAS jeans.
These non-stretch jeans aren’t horrible quality, but the buttons are, and the fit is off. The hips fit well, but the waist is too big and the front crotch area has way too much extra fabric. Due to the diagonal fly, you can see the fabric bunches in a diagonal/asymmetrical way. Perhaps a smaller size would fix this, but regardless, there shouldn’t be so much fabric there. These seem to be ultra-high-rise, so that may explain the excess fabric and why the back comes up so high. On a positive note, the back seam is straight, which is often not the case with cheaper jeans, and I like the straight-leg, looser style.
4) Asymmetric Faux Leather V-Neck Mini Dress

Color/Size/Cost: Nude / M / $38
Country: Made in China
Material: Different materials are listed in two places:

- Care label- 100% Cotton
Expectation: It is VERY different from what I was expecting in terms of overall appearance. The sleeves are too wide at the wrist and I am NOT able to pull them up like it shows in the product image.

Keep or Return: I would return this MICAS faux leather dress.
This dress is pretty atrocious. Firstly, the seams are all raw, and not in a clean way. Some areas are cut jaggedly and aligned crookedly. Secondly, the material has a small amount of stretch, but was overall VERY difficult to get on by myself. Thirdly, though comfortable, it is a bit sweat-inducing. Fourthly, the sleeves are WAY too long and big, so I can’t pull them up above my wrists. They would need to be cut off. Finally, the couch-like material is tricky because it clings like plastic wrap on my body, but the loose areas just hang and flap around. Specifically, the flappy area right below my behind. Overall, this dress is just one big cheap layer of faux leather, thrown together without much thought.
5) Abstract-Print Backless Midi Slip Dress
Brand Label: MICAS
Color/Size/Cost: Multicolor / M / $38
Country: Made in China
Material: 100% Polyester
Expectation: It is exactly what I was expecting in terms of overall appearance.
Quality: In my opinion, the quality of the materials overall is okay, however, it is somewhat poorly constructed. It feels/looks like the grain of the material wasn’t aligned properly before sewing. See my Quality Comparison & Rating Chart to know my current quality-rating standards.

Keep or Return: I would return this MICAS slip dress.
The pattern is cute and the material is soft, but it feels VERY ‘wrong’ when worn. It seems like the grains of the pieces of fabric were not correctly oriented before sewing. The tension is not in the right areas, causing it to feel unnatural and extremely crooked. Additionally, the upper back flares out right below the horizontal strap, the side seams (both sides) are bunched in an unflattering way and don’t sit flat, the material feels a bit thin, and the straps don’t offer much support.

I received two items in one package for my first order and three items in one package for my second, both received at my address in North Carolina (United States). Return & Refund Info
I emailed support (support@shopmicas.com) to request a full return on March 13th. My request was approved on March 22nd, and I was provided with the return address. I mailed the return package on March 27th via USPS and paid a total of $8.80.

I emailed support to request a full return on January 25th. They sent me their ‘Start a Return’ link which is found in their footer, and I completed the brief form. My request was approved shortly after on January 28th, and I was provided with the return address. I mailed the return package on January 29th via USPS and paid a total of $7.84.

- I asked them a handful of questions about their company such as their sustainability claims (in addition to requesting a return), and they completely ignored my questions.

Is MICAS Legit or a Scam?
Similar Sites & Analysis
Reverse Image Search:
Based on my findings, there are MANY other small boutiques/online shops/marketplaces that sell many of the same items as MICAS.
Possible reasons for this include the use of the same suppliers, the use of stolen images, the same owner operating multiple stores, the same owner selling on multiple platforms, etc.
With that being said, I found several of the same products on AliExpress, SHEIN, etc. for much cheaper. For example, I found the below dress for $35 on MICAS, and $12.17 on SHEIN’s Marketplace. Based on the reverse image search results, I believe these are likely identical or near-identical items offered at vastly different prices (as opposed to one being a cheap-quality version of the other).
I highly recommend doing Reverse Image Searches when shopping online for price and quality checking purposes. You might be surprised at what you find!

No suspicious information (such as lawsuits or alerts from the Better Business Bureau) was found.
Do I Recommend This Shop?
Based on my experience, they are a legitimate shop. For both orders, I paid for my items, received them within the estimated time frame, successfully completed returns, and received full refunds.
With that being said, I personally would not shop here again.
Even though the return process is quick and my items arrived in under 2 weeks, here are 5 reasons why I would not shop here again:
- They make very vague sustainability claims. I asked for more information about their sustainability, and they completely ignored my query. This leads me to believe they are lying.
- All sale items are not returnable. Since they are overpriced, making sale items not returnable makes shopping with them not worth it (for me).
- Their quality is both inconsistent and generally subpar. Some items are BAD, while others are okay. In my case, most of my items are disappointing in one way or another.
- I found a material discrepancy between the care label and the product page. This is misleading and makes me question this company’s honesty.
- After doing some reverse image searching, I am convinced I can find many of the same items for significantly cheaper.
Overall, customer service ignoring my questions about their OWN claims and the disappointing clothing quality is enough for me to keep looking.
