Let’s get right to it. Is thehalara.com (the athleisure shop) a legit website? The short answer is yes, they are legitimate. I received my clothing order and successfully returned everything for a refund. Now the biggest question is, would I shop here again?

While they follow a fast fashion model by keeping up with the trends (and therefore promoting overconsumption), they appear to follow some sustainable practices. According to their FAQ page, they are allegedly dedicated to sustainable manufacturing practices, producing their products under strict environmental, labor, and wage regulations. By adopting an on-demand production approach, they can minimize waste and environmental impact, while maximizing fabric efficiency and affordability. They also use a ‘pre-order’ and ‘Just In Time’ model for certain products to avoid overproduction.

According to their Homepage and the Internet Archive, they are/were located in Singapore and Hong Kong. They are/were located at the following addresses:

1) Seamless Flow High-Waisted Ribbed Knit 7/8 Leggings

Expectation: They are exactly what I was expecting in terms of overall appearance.

Fit: I ordered based on the size guide provided, and they are the right size, but not the right fit for my body shape. The crotch area has slightly too much fabric creating folds, and everywhere else feels snug. View my Body Measurements for size reference.
Keep or Return: I would return these Halara ribbed leggings.
While I think the ribbed material is interesting and comfy, and I LOVE the seamless front, the material feels a bit too thin for my taste, the excess material in the crotch seems a bit ill-fitting, and the ‘high-waist’ cut is not high-waisted enough for me. It sits about 1-2 inches below my natural waist. These also seem overpriced for a very basic pair of leggings. I could find a similar pair on Amazon for half the cost.
2) High-Waisted Crossover Ruched Side Pocket 2-in-1 Casual Shorts 3″

Expectation: They are what I was expecting, for the most part, in terms of overall appearance. It is more blue-looking in person.

Keep or Return: I would return these Halara crossover shorts.
Though I really like the style, soft and stretchy material, and the flowy layer on top of the shorts, they are too big. When I am between sizes in shorts, I typically size up. This did not work out, unfortunately. If these were a size smaller, I would consider keeping them.
3) Cloudful™ Fabric High-Waisted Drawstring Deep Pocket Flare Leggings

Expectation: They are exactly what I was expecting in terms of overall appearance.

Keep or Return: I would keep these Halara drawstring leggings.
The material feels fairly thick and sturdy, the drawstring area is very cute, the high-waist cut surprisingly meets my natural waistline, and they feel very comfortable and don’t give me a wedgie on either side. The fit is a bit weird though, but not a dealbreaker. The upper legs feel snug while the waist feels roomier. Overall, they aren’t amazing quality, but they are good enough and fit well.
4) Square-Neck Side Pocket 2-Piece Mini Flare Dress Set

Color/Size/Cost: Smoke Purple / M / $52.95
Country: Made in China
Material: 80% Polyester / 20% Elastane
Expectation: It is not what I was expecting in terms of overall appearance. Perhaps this is just due to my body shape/proportions, but the bust area fits differently. On the model, the seam cuts right underneath her bust. On me, it cuts just above the bottom of my bust and feels a bit weird as a result.

Keep or Return: I would return this Halara flare dress.
Though it is a cute style (comes with separate spandex shorts) and the material is soft and comfy, it is not a good fit. The seam right below my bust sits an inch or two too high. This feels a bit ill-fitting and uncomfortable. Sizing down would probably exacerbate this issue, so I think a different dress would be a better choice. Also, considering this is a workout dress, it really should have built-in cups. Having to wear a separate sports bra would make this outfit look less clean/nice.

General Responsiveness
- Upon submitting a return request through their portal, I received an automated email within 24 hours with the return address. I had a separate question and they also responded promptly.
Return Details
- The return process is a bit unnecessarily complicated. You have to submit a request through their portal, and to do so, you have to attach an image of each item you are returning. You then have to wait for them to approve your return, and then follow a link back to the return portal to select your desired return/refund option. You also have to print out and include a return slip in your return package.
- They offered me the following return options:
- Standard return (pay for shipping and mail to the provided return address)
- Gift Card in the full amount I paid + keep the items
Refund Details
- I followed up on the status of the refund on 3/11 (I mailed the package on 2/6). They asked for my tracking number and I provided it to them. I got the refund 3 days later.
Is Halara Legit or a Scam?

I highly recommend doing Reverse Image Searches when shopping online for price and quality checking purposes. You might be surprised at what you find!
Website/Company Search:
No suspicious information (such as lawsuits or alerts from the Better Business Bureau) was found.
Do I Recommend This Shop?
Based on my experience, they are a legitimate shop. I paid for my items, received them within the estimated time frame, successfully completed a return, and received a full refund.
With that being said, I would shop here again.
Though their items seem to run a bit big, here are my 3 reasons why:
- They have a low order minimum to get free shipping.
- The overall quality of my items is decent. They feel comparable to items you would find in the active section at Target.
- If you want to make a return, they offer a decent refund alternative. They will give you the full refund amount in the form of a gift card and you get to keep everything. This is only a good deal if you, at a minimum, kind of like the stuff you ordered.
Overall, my experience was fine and the quality of their items isn’t bad at all. For my next purchase though, I would size down in most items and would look at their sale section since they are not final and can be returned.
