Let’s get right to it. Is modlily.com (the women’s clothing shop) a legit website? The quick answer is yes, they are legitimate. I received my clothing order and successfully returned everything for a refund. Now the biggest question is, would I shop here again?

According to my tracking information, my order was originally shipped from overseas (likely China). I ended up receiving my order from a distribution center in New Jersey (United States).

1) Split Leaf-Print Belted Maxi Dress
- Color, Size, and Cost: Pink / M / $34.98
- Country: Unknown
- Material: The product page states 100% Polyester.
Expectation: It is what I was expecting, for the most part, in terms of overall appearance. The belt looks like it sits a bit higher on the model.
Quality: In my opinion, the quality is okay. See my Quality Comparison & Rating Chart to know my current quality-rating standards.
Fit: I ordered based on the size guide provided, and it technically fits, but not for a curvy body. View my Body Measurements for size reference.
Keep or Return: I would return this Modlily dress.
The material is kind of scratchy, semi low-quality, and it is not a good fit for my curvier body shape as it is more of a straight fit. Also, I see some loose threads in various places.
2) One-Piece Swimwear
- Color, Size, and Cost: Black / M / $28.98
- Country: Made in China
- Material: Different materials are listed in two places:
- Product page- 88% Nylon / 12% Spandex
- Care label- 82% Polyester / 18% Spandex
Expectation: It is exactly what I was expecting in terms of overall appearance.

Keep or Return: I would keep this Modlily swimsuit!
Though not the highest-quality one-piece, it is really pretty, fits well and the price is great.
3) Mesh High-Waisted Tropical-Plants-Print Bikini Set
- Color, Size, and Cost: Coral / M / $31.98
- Country: Made in China
- Material: Different materials are listed in two places:
- Product page- 82% Nylon / 18% Spandex
- Care label- 82% Polyester / 18% Spandex
Expectation: It is not what I was expecting in terms of overall appearance. The top fits very differently than it does in the product image.

Fit: I ordered based on the size guide provided, and it is the right size, but it doesn’t fit my body shape well. View my Body Measurements for size reference.
Keep or Return: I would return this Modlily swimsuit.
It is not a great fit for my body shape (the upper waistband fits a bit tightly while everywhere else fits okay), and the top looks a bit ugly in person. The center where it is sewn together is not placed well, hence the weird look to it. The bottoms also aren’t double-lined.

Return & Refund Info
I completed a return request for all items via their return portal on June 8th. It was instantaneously approved, and I was provided a prepaid return label (they will deduct $9.99 from my refund). I mailed the package on June 9th.
I received a full refund of $85.95 (full refund minus the prepaid shipping label fee and shipping insurance) on June 27th. I received the refund eighteen days after mailing the package. – View Refund Receipt

Support Experience
- They offer full store credit as an alternate refund option. If you move forward with a regular refund back to your original payment method, they deduct a $9.99 shipping fee.
- I reached out to them via instant chat. I asked them about an address in China that I found connected to their site, and their response was “what??”. Very unprofessional communication.

- Most of the product images look to be partially AI-generated. This is terribly disingenuous ESPECIALLY since they state on their About page, “…capture the details of every style for you to preview before you make a purchase decision”.
Do I Recommend This Shop?
Based on my experience, they are a legitimate site. I paid for my items, received them within the estimated time frame, successfully completed a return, and received a full refund (minus the original shipping insurance cost and prepaid return label fee).
With that being said, I personally would not shop here again.
While the clothing is pretty affordable, the quality is acceptable, the shipping was fast, and the return was easy, I question the honesty of their company. They use a lot of AI-generated/edited images which I find do not fairly represent the clothing, and I found several instances of mismatching material compositions. They specifically list Nylon on the product pages (for the two swimsuits as an example), only for me to find out they are actually made with polyester (nylon is a better quality material). This leads me to believe they make their products seem better than they are through deception.
