About Mott and Bow
What is Mott and Bow?
They are an online women’s and men’s clothing shop with a focus on denim jeans. Their founder, Alejandro Chahin, honed his skills in denim manufacturing from a young age in his family’s facility in Honduras. Realizing a pricing inefficiency in the fashion market, Chahin committed to altering the price-quality relationship by providing excellent jeans at a fair price.
Is Mott and Bow sustainable?
Yes, they appear to be partially sustainable. With materials like hemp, recycled polyester, and organic cotton, their new Eco-Friendly Denim line utilizes preferred fibers and materials that comply with global sustainability standards. I can also confirm that my items arrived with minimal packaging (most items were not inside plastic bags) and arrived in a cardboard box.

All three jeans in my order were made in Honduras.

Mott and Bow Review and Order Details
I ordered the below items on 10/28/2023 to my address in North Carolina (United States). I paid a total of $344.07 to Mott & Bow, Inc. via PayPal. The charge appears on my credit card statement as “PAYPAL *MOTTBOWINC”. – View Order Confirmation
1) Fitted V-Neck Marcy Tee
- Color, Size, and Cost: Crimson / L / $40
- Country: Made in Peru
- Material: 50% Pima cotton, and 50% Modal
- Expectation: It is exactly what I was expecting in terms of overall appearance.
- Quality: In my opinion, the quality is okay. It is comparable to a t-shirt you might find at Forever 21 or H&M.
- Fit: I ordered based on the size guide provided, and it fits well. View my body measurements for size reference.
- Keep or Return: I would return this Mott and Bow shirt. While the material is soft and lightly stretchy, and it overall fits well, it is paper-thin and MUCH too expensive for the quality. I don’t think this would come out looking the same after a wash-and-dry cycle.
2) High Rise Skinny Ann Jeans
- Color, Size, and Cost: Dark Blue / Medium / $67.90
- Country: Made in Honduras
- Material: 69% Cotton, 15% Modal, 14% Polyester, and 2% Elastane
- Expectation: They are what I was expecting, for the most part, in terms of overall appearance. They look a few shades darker in person.
- Quality: In my opinion, the quality is decent. They are comparable to a pair of jeans you might find at Target or H&M.
- Fit: I ordered based on the size guide provided, and they fit well. View my body measurements for size reference.
- Keep or Return: I would return these Mott and Bow skinny jeans. While the quality of the material feels fine, the front pockets are shallow, and the jeans are overall sewn poorly. The back pockets are sewn at different heights, the center back seam has a permanently wrinkled area (this clearly wasn’t ironed flat prior to being sewn over), and the back seam is a bit crooked.
3) Slim Boyfriend Hubert Jeans
- Color, Size, and Cost: Light Blue / 29×28 / $93.90
- Country: Made in Honduras
- Material: 96% Cotton, 3% Polyester, and 1% Elastane
- Expectation: They are what I was expecting, for the most part, in terms of overall appearance. The blue color is a bit less bright and warm in person.
- Quality: In my opinion, the quality is decent. They are comparable to a pair of jeans you might find at Target or H&M.
- Fit: I ordered based on the size guide provided, and they fit well. View my body measurements for size reference.
- Keep or Return: I would return these Mott and Bow boyfriend jeans. While I like the look, fit, and semi-stretchy material, they have an issue. When worn, you can see a small bulge coming from the material that the zipper is sewn onto. When you look on the inside, a section of the fly’s material is really thick (it should have been made flatter). When worn, the thick area shows through slightly. This bothers me enough to pass on these jeans. I also don’t like that the front pockets are shallow. I have small hands, and they cannot completely fit inside.
4) Mom-Charlton-Jeans
- Color, Size, and Cost: Light Blue / 29×28 / $119
- Country: Made in Honduras
- Material: 80% Cotton, 13% Hemp, 6% Recycled Cotton, and 1% Elastane
- Expectation: They aren’t quite what I was expecting in terms of overall appearance. The color is a different shade of blue.
- Quality: In my opinion, the quality is okay. They are comparable to a pair of jeans you might find at Forever 21 or H&M.
- Fit: I ordered based on the size guide provided, and they fit well. View my body measurements for size reference.
- Keep or Return: I would return these Mott and Bow mom jeans. While I think that these are cute, and I like the slightly stretchy material, they are MUCH too expensive for the quality. They feel like they have been through the wash and dry cycle at least ten times, and they feel thin and flimsy. I also don’t like that the front pockets are shallow. I have small hands, and they cannot completely fit inside.

Do I Recommend This Shop?
Based on my experience, they are a legitimate shop. I paid for my items, received them within the estimated time frame, successfully completed a return, and received a full refund (minus a return fee).
With that being said, I personally would not shop here again.
As for the positives, the shipping was VERY fast, the return process was simple and cheap, I got the refund the same day I dropped off the return, and they have an eco-friendly collection.
Regarding the negatives, I am less than impressed with the clothing quality. Some of the items were poorly made (the skinny jeans in particular were sewn horrendously, and the tee feels thinner than tissue paper), and the prices are overall steep. If I am going to pay over $100 for a pair of jeans, they should not feel flimsy and like they have been through the wash ten times!
