Let’s get right to it. Is social.shop (the women’s clothing shop) a legit website? The short answer is yes, they are legitimate. I received my clothing order and successfully returned everything for a refund. Now the biggest question is, would I shop here again?

Where is Social Shop located?
According to their Contact page and the Internet Archive, they are located in the United States. They are/were located at the following addresses:

I will only include the older/archived business address(es) if it is within 2-3 years of the current date (since companies can change locations). This could be helpful to know if you’re considering shopping at a ‘shadier’ company.
Where does Social Shop ship from?
According to their Shipping and Delivery page, most orders are shipped from their warehouse in China, but can also ship from warehouses in the U.S. and Canada depending on the items.
For reference, according to my tracking information, my order was originally shipped from China. I received my order from a distribution center in Illinois (United States).

I ordered the below items on 12/8/2023 to my address in North Carolina (United States). I paid a total of $107.96 to SocialShop LLC (finance@social.shop) via PayPal. The charge appears on my credit card statement as “PAYPAL *SOCIALSHOP”. – View Order Confirmation
1) Silly Goose Sweatshirt
Brand Label: Unknown
Color/Size/Cost: Green / L / $28.99
Country: Unknown
Material: The product page states ‘100% Polyester’.
Expectation: It isn’t what I was expecting in terms of overall appearance. I was expecting a more bluish-green color, and the texture overall is cheaper-looking in person.

Keep or Return: I would return this Social Shop sweater.
This is one of the cheapest-feeling sweaters I’ve ever worn. It is so lightweight that it would probably blow away in a very light wind. The material is wrinkly, very thin, and overall isn’t sewn super well. The embroidered duck isn’t terrible, and the inside feels soft, but aside from those two things, this is not a good sweater.
2) Casual Simplicity Solid Turndown-Collar Outerwear

Color/Size/Cost: Red / M / $32.99
Country: Made in China
Material: 100% Polyester
Expectation: It isn’t what I was expecting in terms of overall appearance. In person, it is more of an orangey-coral color. It is kind of funny… the color says red, the product image shows pink, and what I received is coral.

Keep or Return: I would return this Social Shop blazer.
While I really like how it fits, and generally think it’s a cute style and color, it is cheaply made. The outside material feels like a thin, cheap towel and the inside is not double-lined and feels scratchy. I would keep this if it were cheaper, but for over $30, I expect something MUCH better quality.
3) Loose Drawstring Casual Pants
Brand Label: Unknown
Color/Size/Cost: Blue / L(12) / $20.99
Country: Made in China
Material: Different materials are listed in two places:

- Care label- 35% Cotton / 65% Polyester
Expectation: They aren’t what I was expecting in terms of overall appearance. The color is a lighter blue, and the material is much thinner and less opaque-looking in person.

Keep or Return: I would return these Social Shop pants.
Though they fit well, the material feels like thin, cheap linen. As a result, it feels a bit scratchy on the skin. When I bend my leg, it feels like light sandpaper rubbing on my kneecaps. It is also see-through which is an automatic no for me.
4) Wide-Leg Jumpsuit With Pockets

Expectation: It isn’t what I was expecting in terms of overall appearance. It is a much richer orangey-brown color in person, and the neckline is round vs. slightly v-shaped.

Keep or Return: I would return this Social Shop jumpsuit.
While it feels soft and stretchy, and generally fits well, it is cheaply made. The material is thin, the sewing is a bit unclean, and I am not a fan of the design/style. My backside looks like I’m wearing a diaper, and I think the drop-crotch is unflattering on me.
Shipment Info
I received four items in one package at my address in North Carolina (United States). The package originated from China, and I received from a distribution center in the United States. I was provided a tracking number through Yun Express.

Shipping Timeline:
- I placed my order on Fri, December 8th
- My order shipped on Fri, December 15th
- I received my package on Fri, December 29th
Total time of 21 days
Their shipping policy states up to 25 business days (including processing time) for standard U.S. shipping.
Return & Refund Info
I emailed support (support@social.shop) to request a full return on December 30th. My request was approved the next day on December 31st, and I was provided with the return address. I mailed the package on January 8th via UPS and paid a total of $10.02.

I was given two return addresses. One before I purchased (I asked so I could know in advance), and one when I requested a return. I returned my items to the U.S. address. See the ‘Support Experience’ section below for more details.
I received a full refund of $107.96 on January 26th. I received it 18 days after I mailed the package. – View Refund Receipt
Support Experience
- I had to ask for the return address THREE times.
- They alternatively offered me the following refund/return options:
- Partial refund of 15% of the total return amount + keep the items
- New items in the correct sizes (I would need to cover the $27.98 shipping fee) + keep the current items
- [Per the above note] Before I placed an order, I emailed them asking what country their return address was in, and they gave me their U.S. return address. Lo and behold, after ordering and requesting a return, they gave me a return address in CHINA! I copied and pasted the email they previously sent telling me the U.S. return address, and I threatened to file a PayPal claim if they did not accept my return at their U.S. location. They agreed to let me return to the U.S. location instead of overseas. Very ridiculous and misleading.
Provided Return Instructions:
- Please write your Order ID on the packaging.
- Please give us the tracking number within 5 days of sending the package.
Return Notes:
- Please kindly note all returned items must be returned unworn, undamaged, unwashed, and with all the original labels attached in original packaging. If not, the buyer is responsible for all incurred fees and there will be no refund.
- After the warehouse staff confirms receipt of the product, we will refund your payment account.
Is Social Shop Legit or a Scam?

Based on plagiarism-checking scans by Copyleaks, the following pages on Social Shop have 57% (or more) identical content to pages on the following sites:
About Page– swisskon.com
Returns Page– forestarofficial.comm, moodymates.com, and beskaal.com
The above list is just a small snippet. There is likely MUCH more matching content out there.
Possible reasons for this include plagiarism, sites sharing the same owner and using templated information, etc.
Reverse Image Search:
Based on my findings, there are MANY other small boutiques/online shops/marketplaces that sell many of the same items as Social Shop.
Possible reasons for this include the use of the same suppliers, the use of stolen images, the same owner operating multiple stores, the same owner selling on multiple platforms, etc.
With that being said, I found several of the same products on Temu, AliExpress, etc. for much cheaper. For example, I found the below shirt for $26.99 on Social Shop, and $4.93 on AliExpress. Based on the reverse image search results, I believe these are likely identical or near-identical items offered at vastly different prices (as opposed to one being a cheap-quality version of the other).
I highly recommend doing Reverse Image Searches when shopping online for price and quality checking purposes. You might be surprised at what you find!

No suspicious information (such as lawsuits or alerts from the Better Business Bureau) was found.
Do I Recommend This Shop?
Based on my experience, they are a legitimate shop. I paid for my items, received them within the estimated time frame, successfully completed a return, and received a full refund.
With that being said, I personally would not shop here again.
Here are my 5 reasons why:
- Every single item in my order looks different in person compared to the product images.
- The clothing quality overall is bad.
- It took 3 weeks for my items to arrive which is lengthy. This falls within their shipping estimate, but it is not worth it to me.
- There are material composition discrepancies, meaning the product pages list one thing and the care labels on the garments list another.
- They are very dishonest. Before ordering, they let me know the return address is in the United States. After receiving my order and requesting a return, they tried to give me a return address in CHINA. This makes me wonder how many other shops do this in an attempt to discourage a return. Awful.
Overall a terrible experience. I advise that you stay away.
