Status: Review Complete

Let’s cut to the chase. Is cosmolle.com (the sustainability-focused activewear shop) a legit website? The short answer is yes, they are legitimate. I received my clothing order and successfully returned everything for a refund. Now the biggest question is, would I shop here again?

In this honest and detailed review, I will share my purchase and return experience, my thoughts on their clothing, brand information/research, and my final verdict/recommendation. Keep reading for more!

About Cosmolle

Is Cosmolle sustainable?

Though not all their clothing is made from 100% sustainable materials, they appear to follow some sustainable practices. According to their Technology page, they prioritize eco-friendliness by using Collagen Polyamide Yarn (with recycled fish scales), recyclable packaging, and incorporating recyclable materials into their clothing such as recycled nylon.

I can also confirm that three out of four of my items are made of partially recycled materials.

Cosmolle Review and Order Details

I ordered the below items on 11/30/2023 to my address in North Carolina (United States). I paid a total of $210.23 to 厦门和新电子商务有限公司 via PayPal. The charge appears on my credit card statement as “PAYPAL *SHAMENH4MXE”. View Order Confirmation

1) AirWear Long Sleeve & High-Waist Legging Set

Brand Label: Cosmolle

Color/Size/Cost: Black / M /$59 (Sale Price)

Country: Made in China

Material:

  • Top- 74% Recycled Nylon / 17% Nylon / 9% Spandex
  • Leggings- 65% Recycled Nylon / 23% Nylon / 12% Spandex
cosmolle airwear leggings set comparison

Expectation: It isn’t what I was expecting in terms of overall appearance. The top seems much more cropped in the product image, and the waistband of the leggings looks thicker/taller in person.

Quality: In my opinion, the quality is pretty good. See my Quality Comparison & Rating Chart to know my current quality-rating standards.

Fit: I ordered based on the size guide provided, and it fits well. View my Body Measurements for size reference.

Keep or Return: I would keep this Cosmolle Airwear leggings set!

The leggings are squat-proof and seamless, the material is somewhat thick, the leggings don’t cause a front wedgie or have excess material in that area, and the butt-enhancing seam going down the center of the backside feels subtle (when you squat, you feel a little bit of pulling/tension, but not a major issue).

The few negatives I will point out are that when worn, you can see some slight striping/streaking around the butt area (I suspect this is due to an issue in the dying process), and I don’t love the highlighting of the butt area (you can see circles). However, since they are all black, the ‘butt enhancement’ isn’t very noticeable.

2) Premium Seamless V-Neck Crop Top & Leggings Set

Brand Label: Cosmolle

Color/Size/Cost: Sencha-iro / M / $49 (Sale Price)

Country: Made in China

Material: 55% Recycled Nylon / 35% Nylon / 10% Spandex

cosmolle seamless set comparison

Expectation: It isn’t what I was expecting in terms of overall appearance. The overall color is a bit more brown (rather than orange-ish) in person, and the waistband is much thicker and chunkier looking in person.

Quality: In my opinion, the quality is pretty good. See my Quality Comparison & Rating Chart to know my current quality-rating standards.

Fit: I ordered based on the size guide provided, and it fits a bit tightly, but going up a size would be too big. View my Body Measurements for size reference.

Keep or Return: I would return this Cosmolle v-neck leggings set.

Though the material feels thick and soft, and the leggings are squat-proof, I have several issues with this set. Firstly, the band at the bottom of the top is slightly too tight for my taste, and the sleeves are too big circumference-wise (you can see that they create points at the sides because I don’t fill them out). Secondly, the leggings have a little bit too much material in the crotch area creating an unwanted wrinkled effect. Thirdly, the butt-enhancing strip/seam going down the center of the backside feels tight and pulls each time I move my leg and squat. I was afraid that it was going to bust open when I squatted (it created THAT much tension).

Also, when I am in a fully-squatted position, the strip is ENTIRELY wedged in *there*. I am not a fan of this. These leggings also have the same weird striping/streaking issue around the butt area. Likely the same issue involving the dying process. Overall, it is not at all my style (especially since it is a lighter color), and is not the optimal fit for me.

3) Built-In Thong Soft Smoothing Legging

Brand Label: Cosmolle

Color/Size/Cost: Jet Black / M / $39 (Sale Price)

Country: Made in China

Material:

  • Outside- 82% Nylon / 18% Lycra
  • Lining- 70% Nylon / 30% Spandex

Expectation: They are exactly what I was expecting in terms of overall appearance.

Quality: In my opinion, the quality of the materials overall is decent, however, it is poorly constructed (there is a big hole in the waistline seam). See my Quality Comparison & Rating Chart to know my current quality-rating standards.

Fit: I ordered based on the size guide provided, and they fit well. View my Body Measurements for size reference.

Keep or Return: I would return these Cosmolle leggings.

While they are squat-proof, very soft, feel thin like a second skin, and don’t give me a front wedgie, these have a few issues. Firstly, there is a giant gaping hole in the waist. Secondly, the top of the waistband has a very thin elastic band that squeezes and makes me feel a bit uncomfortable. It feels like a shoelace wrapped around my waist right at the top. Finally, the built-in thong is a great idea, however, since the base of the thong has a thin memory foam pad, you can slightly see the corners/edges poke out from the lower crotch area (it is unlikely that anyone would notice this except for me, but still a discomfort). Overall, these are a nice, thin pair of leggings, however, they are not to my taste.

4) AirWear Sports Bra & Bike Shorts Set

Brand Label: Cosmolle

Color/Size/Cost: Blue / M / $49 (Sale Price)

Country: Made in China

Material:

  • Bra- 74% Recycled Nylon / 17% Nylon / 9% Spandex
  • Shorts- 65% Recycled Nylon / 23% Nylon / 12% Spandex

Expectation: It is exactly what I was expecting in terms of overall appearance.

Quality: In my opinion, the quality is decent. See my Quality Comparison & Rating Chart to know my current quality-rating standards.

Fit: I ordered based on the size guide provided, and the set is about a 1/2 size too small. View my Body Measurements for size reference.

Keep or Return: I would return this Cosmolle Airwear shorts set.

Though the material feels fairly soft and the bottoms are squat-proof, this overall is not a good fit for my body and is not my preferred style. Firstly, the bra is a bit too tight and this style of sports bra does not provide the coverage I like. I have a bit of extra upper chest fat, and this style of bra cuts right into it and pushes the fat outward. Secondly, the bottoms are a bit tight around the thighs (I have thin legs so this is a bit surprising). Sizing up would not be a good fit either, since the crotch area already has too much fabric. Thirdly, as I’ve previously stated, I do not like the butt-enhancing strip going down the backside. Squatting creates some tension from the strip/seam. And lastly, as with two of the other pairs, there is some streaking around the butt area. Again, this likely occurred in the dying process and the stretching of the material makes this noticeable. Overall, not the worst set ever, but not my style and not the right fit for my body shape.

Do I Recommend This Shop?

Based on my experience, they are a legitimate shop. I paid for my items, received them within the estimated time frame, successfully completed a return, and received a full refund.

With that being said, I would *conditionally* shop here again.

To state the positives, they have a generous 60-day return window, offer FREE returns, the overall quality of their products is decent (or even a bit better), their sale prices are a good deal, some of their products use partially recycled materials, and everything arrived in under 2 weeks.

The only real negative I have is that one of my leggings arrived with a huge hole in the waist. Assuming this was a one-off incident, I won’t fault the company for this though. As for personal taste, three out of four of the leggings/bottoms I ordered are ‘butt-enhancing’. I don’t like this, and would not re-purchase any of their activewear with this style.

Overall, I had a good experience and am mostly happy with the quality of the activewear! For future purchases, I would stick with the non-enhancing legging styles (my personal taste) and stay away from some of their intimates since they claim to infuse them with fish collagen (I don’t wear any animal products).
