Freckled Poppy Review and Order Details

I ordered the below items on 9/6/2023 to my address in North Carolina (United States). I paid a total of $218.46 to theLaigles, L.L.C via PayPal. The charge appears on my credit card statement as “PAYPAL *FP BOUTIQUE”. View Order Confirmation

1) Judy Blue High-Rise Dark-Wash Front-Seam Skinny Jeans With Front Slit

  • Color, Size, and Cost: Dark Wash / 9 / $68.90
  • Country: Made in Vietnam
  • Material: 93% Cotton / 6% Polyester / 1% Spandex

Expectation: They are exactly what I was expecting in terms of overall appearance.

Quality: In my opinion, the quality of the materials overall is decent, however, it is poorly constructed (the back seams are crooked). See my Quality Comparison & Rating Chart to know my current quality-rating standards.

Fit: I ordered based on the size guide provided, and they fit at least two sizes too big. View my Body Measurements for size reference.

Keep or Return: I would return these Freckled Poppy jeans.

The biggest issue is the fit. They are so stretchy that you can go down in size. The back seam is also ever so slightly crooked which makes them unwearable for me. However, I like everything else about them including the unusual vertical seams and leg slits. If these were one to two sizes smaller, I would consider keeping them.

2) Judy Blue Bethany Blues Light-Wash Destroyed Shorts Overalls

  • Color, Size, and Cost: Light Wash / M / $65.90
  • Country: Made in China
  • Material: 92% Cotton / 6% Polyester / 2% Spandex

Expectation: They are what I was expecting, for the most part, in terms of overall appearance. They are a little bit darker and more gray-sih in person.

Quality: In my opinion, the quality of the materials overall is decent, however, it is poorly constructed (the back seam is crooked). See my Quality Comparison & Rating Chart to know my current quality-rating standards.

Fit: I ordered based on the size guide provided, and they fit well. View my Body Measurements for size reference.

Keep or Return: I would return these Freckled Poppy jean shorts overalls.

While the denim itself is stretchy and comfy, these have a cheap element to them. The buttons on the side flare out, giving me a weird shape, and the back seam is slightly crooked (the Judy Blue logo is crookedly sewn on as well).

3) Judy Blue Mid-Rise Dark-Wash Heavy Destroyed Straight-Leg Jeans

  • Color, Size, and Cost: Dark Wash / 7 / $68.90
  • Country: Made in Vietnam
  • Material: 93% Cotton / 6% Polyester / 1% Spandex

Expectation: They are exactly what I was expecting in terms of overall appearance.

Quality: In my opinion, the quality of the materials overall is decent, however, it is poorly constructed (the back seam is crooked). See my Quality Comparison & Rating Chart to know my current quality-rating standards.

Fit: I ordered based on the size guide provided, and they fit one size too small. View my Body Measurements for size reference.

Keep or Return: I would return these Freckled Poppy jeans.

I like the loose straight-leg style, the destroyed look, and the stretchiness. However, not only are they a bit too big, but the back seam is really crooked.

Support Experience

  • Customer service was very fast to respond and promptly gave me the return address.
  • However, in their first response to my return request, they told me, We are unable to process a return for the Judy Blue Bethany Blues Light Wash Destroyed Shorts Overalls because you did receive 20% cash back for this final sale item”. I had no clue what they were talking about, so I scoured their website and found the ‘20% Cashback! Final’ category under the ‘Shop All’ tab. I clicked through all of the pages and finally found the shorts overalls listed. I did not recall purchasing anything from this category nor anything that was labeled as Final Sale. So, I went back to the product page for the shorts overalls, and lo and behold, there is NO MENTION ANYWHERE that they were Final Sale. When I found this item, I had actually searched under the ‘Judy Blue Shorts’ category.
  • Per the above point, I let them know how misleading it was to put that item under multiple categories and to not list IN THE PRODUCT PAGE that it was Final Sale. I threatened a PayPal claim (because at this point, I am not wasting time), and they promptly apologized and are allowing me to return it.

Similar Sites & Analysis

According to Copyleaks (premium), the below plagiarism is detected:

Additional Notes:

  • Lots of grammatical errors and spelling typos are found on many product pages. Examples include, “THe sizing below is conservative”, “…everywhere here at FP prefers a more relaxed short so when between sizes we prefer the more relaxed fit of a size up”, “TTS 7 with a curvy figure andt the medium…”. I am astonished at how frequent the obvious writing errors are. It makes me think that this shop is either run overseas or the person who overlooks the website is careless.
  • Some of their Final Sale items explicitly state in the product title that they are Final Sale, while others are completely incognito (the shorts overalls I ordered are an example).
  • They have two websites, https://freckledpoppy.co/ and https://freckledpoppy.com/. The .co website does link to the .com website, but I have no clue why both exist.

Do I Recommend This Shop?

Based on my experience, they are a legitimate site. I paid for my items, received them within the estimated time frame, successfully completed a return, and received a full refund.

With that being said, I personally would not shop here again.

While the items arrived lightning fast, customer service was very responsive, and the quality of the clothing seems okay, I take big issue with shops misleading customers. Their return policy states that Final Sale items are non-refundable (this includes items ending in .99, items included in the 20% Cashback category, and other items). Some items found in this hidden 20% Cashback category are also listed under other categories, which leads to accidentally purchasing Final Sale items without knowing. Some items state on their product page that they are Final Sale, others don’t. Again, this is extremely misleading to customers, and they need to seriously redo their website layout and item categorization method.

Also, every single item I ordered has a crooked back seam. Two of them I could overlook because they are more minor, but the other is crooked enough that I would not wear them. I probably would not continue shopping here for denim because of the high chance of receiving a poorly sewn item.
