About Sweetflexx

What is Sweetflexx?

They are an online women’s activewear shop that specializes in resistance leggings. McCullough founded this company in 2015, with the aim to combine light resistance bands with activewear, essentially allowing the wearer to ‘wear their gym’. The technology used by the company applies a light but constant resistance with each step, turning any regular day into an exercise opportunity.

Is Sweetflexx sustainable?

No, they likely are not. They don’t state anything on their site regarding efforts in sustainability, or ways that they give back to the community. I can confirm, however, that some of my items arrived in 100% biodegradable packaging.

Sweetflexx Review and Order Details

I ordered the below items on 10/25/2023 to my address in North Carolina (United States). I paid a total of $276 to Sfx (info@sweetflexx.com) via PayPal. The charge appears on my credit card statement as “PAYPAL *SFX”. View Order Confirmation

1) Full length | Hi-Rise | Resistance Leggings

  • Color, Size, and Cost: Camo / 8 / $78
  • Country: Made in China
  • Material: 79% Polyester, and 21% Spandex

Expectation: They are exactly what I was expecting in terms of overall appearance.

Quality: In my opinion, the quality is okay. They are comparable to a pair of leggings you might find at Target or H&M.

Fit: I ordered based on the size guide provided, and they fit a bit tight. However, I think sizing up would be too loose since I have skinny legs. View my body measurements for size reference.

Keep or Return: I would return these Sweetflexx resistance leggings.

While they do noticeably create some tension when moving your legs (bending the knee creates slight tension and works your muscles), are squat-proof, and feel soft, I don’t think they are made super well. With this pair in particular, the back seam is slightly off-center, part of the threading of the back seam unraveled after squatting down (the thread is loose and bunched), and the inside of the crotch has excess material that should have been trimmed and sewn over. I also don’t love the fit, as the lower part of the band cuts across my butt, and the ‘resistance bands’ pull down on the bottom of the waistband making the seam line look uneven.

2) Pockets | Hi-Rise | Resistance Leggings

  • Color, Size, and Cost: Navy / 8 / $78
  • Country: Made in China
  • Material: 79% Polyester, and 21% Spandex

Expectation: They are exactly what I was expecting in terms of overall appearance.

Quality: In my opinion, the quality is decent.

While they do work in terms of creating slight resistance, are squat-proof, have side pockets, and are soft, I don’t think these are a great fit for my body shape and I don’t love the striped appearance. Since I have a bigger backside, I need leggings with waistbands that sit higher up (so that they don’t cut into my butt), and I don’t love the weird stiff feeling of the ‘resistance bands’.

Overall, I could see these working well for someone else, but for me personally, I would prefer a standard pair of nice-fitting leggings and discreet 1 lb ankle weights.

3) Capris + Pockets | Hi-Rise | Resistance Leggings

  • Color, Size, and Cost: Navy / 8 / $76
  • Country: Made in China
  • Material: 79% Polyester, and 21% Spandex
sweetflexx crop navy resistance leggings comparison

Expectation: They are what I was expecting, for the most part, in terms of overall appearance. The color is a richer navy blue in person.

Quality: In my opinion, the quality is decent. They are comparable to a pair of leggings you might find at Target or H&M.

Fit: I ordered based on the size guide provided, and they fit a bit tight (a little tighter in the waist than the other two I tried on). However, I think sizing up would be too loose since I have skinny legs. View my body measurements for size reference.

Keep or Return: I would return these Sweetflexx resistance leggings.

As stated with the previous two pairs, while they offer slight resistance, are soft, have pockets, and are squat-proof, they just aren’t for me. The waistband is too low and cuts into my butt (they should sit higher), the bands look and feel a bit strange and create an uneven-looking waistband since they pull down on the lower seam. With this pair in particular, the openings of the legs are not symmetrical. On both, one side is a bit longer than the other making them look uneven around each calf.

Again, I could see these kinds of leggings working for someone else, but not for me.

4) Flexx Seamless Racerback | Tank Top

  • Color, Size, and Cost: Black / Medium / $44
  • Country: Made in China
  • Material: 100% Nylon
sweetflexx racerback tank top comparison

Expectation: It isn’t quite what I was expecting in terms of overall appearance. The neckline and logo are lower than I thought they would be. Perhaps it is due to the size I chose.

Quality: In my opinion, the quality is okay. It is comparable to an active tank top you might find at Target or H&M.

Fit: I ordered based on the size guide provided, and it fits a bit loose, but I prefer this. View my body measurements for size reference.

Keep or Return: I would return this Sweetflexx tank top.

While I love the flattering fit, the rubber dots along the inside of the bottom of the top (to keep the shirt from rolling up), and the light, stretchy, and breathable material, the price is high, and I am a bit disappointed in the quality.

The shoulder straps have some serious puckering happening. This is likely due to the material being stretched while sewing. Now that it is in an unstretched state, it is creating lumps. I could ignore this issue for the right price, but in this case, I expect better quality from a $44 active top.

Do I Recommend This Shop?

Based on my experience so far, they are a legitimate shop. I paid for my items, received them within the estimated time frame, was approved for a return, and mailed the return package. I am waiting for the refund.

With that being said, I personally would not shop here again.

While the shipping was relatively fast, the return process so far is easy and straightforward (minus an issue that got resolved in less than an hour), and support was very fast to respond to my inquiry/problem, the resistance leggings design isn’t for me, and I am a bit disappointed in the quality.

The resistance band technology is simply two long strips of wide elastic band sewn vertically on the front of the legs. While it does actually create mild resistance, and you can feel the tension right away, I don’t like the semi-noticeable stripes. Not only do they look a bit odd, but they also feel pretty strange if you aren’t used to them. Also, the elastic bands are sewn into the waist. As a result, when worn, the bands pull down on the waist creating an uneven seamline that looks unattractive.

Additionally, the leggings themselves, aren’t the quality I’m looking for. The back seam on one pair already unraveled after putting them on ONE time. All three have some subtle areas where the sewing looks a little sloppy and has small amounts of extra fabric poking out that should have been cleanly removed.

Overall, I think the concept of these leggings is simple yet innovative, and the bands do seem to be effective. However, I think there is work to be done in making these look better and feel a bit more natural when worn. I can absolutely see someone else enjoying these, but I would personally not re-purchase. My priority is finding a great quality, awesome-fitting pair of functional leggings, and these don’t fit the bill.
