Let’s address the main question. Is thecommense.com (the women’s clothing shop) a legit website? The short answer is yes, they are legitimate. I received both of my clothing orders and successfully returned the items/got refunds. Now the biggest question is, would I shop here again?

Is Commense fast fashion?
Yes, they are. They have an entire category dedicated to what is trending, which is a dead giveaway.
According to their Sustainability page, they are developing a system called COMIND which is designed to maximize production accuracy and reduce inventory waste. They claim to remain committed to offering products with a sustainable and ethical background. Since they don’t substantiate any of these sustainability claims, I am inclined to think they are green-washing.

Where does Commense ship from?
According to my tracking information, both of my orders were originally shipped from China. I received my orders from distribution centers in Illinois and California (United States).
Where is Commense clothing from?
All items in both of my orders were made in China.
Where is Commense located?
According to their Contact page, they are located in Hong Kong. Their business address is Suite 603, 6/F Laws Comm Plaza, 788 Cheung Sha Wan Rd, Kowloon.
They list 787 Cheung Sha Wan Rd. on their Terms of Service page. I believe this is a typo.

1) Street Essential Scoop-Neck Everyday Tank Top
Brand Label: Commense

Expectation: It is exactly what I was expecting regarding overall appearance.

Fit: I ordered based on the size guide provided, and it is the right size, but not the right fit for my body shape. The band on the shelf bra is 1-2 inches too tight, but sizing up would be too big everywhere else. View my Body Measurements for size reference.
Keep or Return: I would return this Commense tank top.
Not only is the elastic band of the shelf bra too tight, but if I were to size up, I think the straps would slide off my shoulders. The shelf bra also doesn’t seem to hold up my chest at all. It just sits on top of it. The price is great though, so for the right body, this top is a steal!
2) Tie-Strap Contrast-Print Wide-Leg Jumpsuit

Keep or Return: I would return this Commense jumpsuit.
While I love that it is double-lined (and not see-through), it just doesn’t fit quite right. Going up a size would be too big, and going down would be too small. The cups don’t sit in the right place (too high up), and the straps are too far apart for my comfort. The material is also very thin and feels a bit cheap. The price is decent though!

3) Weekend Wishes Bomber Jacket

Expectation: It is not what I was expecting in terms of overall appearance. The material texturally looks different. In the product image, it looks thinner and wrinklier.

Keep or Return: I would return this Commense jacket.
While I like the style of the jacket, and think the main outer waterproof material is decent quality, the ribbed cuffs and hem feel rough and cheap, and I think $52 is a little bit steep. It does look nice though, so if this were to ever go on sale, it would be worth buying.
4) Satin Mock-Neck Tie-Back Short Dress

Expectation: It is not what I was expecting in terms of overall appearance. It is shinier-looking and a lighter burgundy color in person.

Fit: I ordered based on the size guide provided, and it is the right size, but not the right fit for my body shape. The top fits fine but the hips are a size too small. View my Body Measurements for size reference.
Keep or Return: I would return this Commense satin dress.
Though the material is elegant-looking and feels soft and smooth, it is thin and it doesn’t fit well AT ALL. The sleeves are shapeless and do not look flattering, the material of the upper back flares/sticks out, the bottom of the dress is a bit shorter in the back than the front, and due to the material type, it shows just about everything beneath it (you can see my belly button through it). This would also be better for someone with smaller hips.
5) Coastal Cowgirl Corset Long Dress

Keep or Return: I would keep this Commense corset dress.
This dress is decent quality and STUNNING. It is very flattering, double-lined (the inner lining is decent quality too), doesn’t appear to be see-through, the outer material is comfy and has a little bounce/stretch to it, and I love the classic and feminine style. The few negatives are that the corset tie is a super cheap, thin, raw-edged elastic string, and it was TOUGH to get on by myself.

I received two items in one package for my first order and three items in one package for my second, both received at my address in North Carolina (United States). Return & Refund Info
I emailed support (service@thecommense.com) to request a partial return (for the jumpsuit only) on February 22nd. My request was approved two days later on February 24th, and I was provided with the return address. I did not mail my return. I instead accepted a partial refund and kept the item. I determined that this was cost-effective after taking the shipping cost into account.

I emailed support to request a full return on January 25th. My request was approved two days later on January 27th, and I was provided with the return address. I mailed the package on January 29th via USPS and paid a total of $7.84.

Customer Service Experience
General Responsiveness
- For both orders, I had to ask for the return address THREE times before they gave it to me. It seems they do this with every customer each time they request a return. They were, however, swift to respond to my emails. I waited no more than a day for each of their responses.

The $20 prepaid return label is RIDICULOUS. I told them to give me the address so I could mail it myself, and I paid 60% less to ship it. If they give you a return address within your own country, 90% likely you can ship it yourself for much cheaper (unless you bought a TON of clothing).
Is Commense Legit or a Scam?

Reverse Image Search:
Based on my findings, there are MANY other small boutiques/online shops/marketplaces that sell many of the same items as Commense.
Possible reasons for this include the use of the same suppliers, the use of stolen images, the same owner operating multiple stores, the same owner selling on multiple platforms, etc.
With that being said, I found several of the same products on Amazon, Temu, AliExpress, etc. for much cheaper. For example, I found the below long-sleeve shirt for $24 on Commense, and $9.97 on AliExpress. Based on the reverse image search results, I believe these are likely identical or near-identical items offered at different prices (as opposed to one being a cheap-quality version of the other).
I highly recommend doing Reverse Image Searches when shopping online for price and quality checking purposes. You might be surprised at what you find!

No suspicious information (such as lawsuits or alerts from the Better Business Bureau) was found.
Do I Recommend This Shop?
Based on my experience, they are legitimate. With both orders, I paid for my items, received them within the estimated time frame, and received refunds in the expected amounts.
With that being said, I personally would not shop here again.
Even though the clothing quality isn’t bad, and shipping took under two weeks for both orders, here are 4 reasons I would not shop here again:
- The tank top’s material composition differs on the product page and care label. This makes me question how many other products in their catalog are advertised inaccurately.
- Their sustainability claims are vague and seem dishonest due to their lack of transparency.
- I had to ask several times for the return address before they gave it to me. During this conversation, they also offered me a hassle-free $20 prepaid return label. WHAT? That is crazy expensive. I ended up mailing it back myself, and it cost me a fraction of that amount. They know that many people don’t want to pay $20 for a return label and may settle for a partial refund. They, of course, didn’t let me know upfront that I can opt to mail it myself. Overall, this gives me a yucky feeling.
- Based on my reverse image search findings, I believe I can find many of the same items for much cheaper.
Overall, I didn’t have a terrible experience and I liked some of my items. I could see someone else being satisfied with this shop especially since they have a low free-shipping minimum, and accept returns of some sale items. But, per the above points, I would not shop here again considering there are thousands of other places to shop.
